The Penticton Indian Band’s Housing Programs offer extensive services in a variety of different areas including Social Housing, Band Housing, RRAP, New Construction, Property Management and Tenant Management to name a few.  These programs are offered and provided for the  betterment of the Band and Community Members through the development of safe, healthy homes and the value of home ownership. The programs run in conjunction with many outside agencies such as INAC, CMHC and Health Canada

The Housing Department oversees the management of the Band’s housing program assets and facilitates day-to-day tasks related to leasing, operations, and management. The department is responsible for determining the short- and long-term housing needs of the community and prioritizing community lands suitable for housing development. The department offers extensive services through its various programs including Social Housing, Band Housing, RRAP, New Construction, Property Management, and Tenant Relations.

The Social Housing program offers affordable individual housing options to eligible community members based on their income and other criteria. The Band Housing program includes three main options which include Section 95 CMHC, band rentals and individual mortgage program for CP holders. 

The CMHC/RRAP (Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program) provides financial assistance for the repair of member housing. 

The Department also provides services to ensure that all band properties under its management are properly maintained and managed. Tenant Relations services are also offered to assist tenants with their tenancy-related needs and to ensure that their housing needs are being met.

All these programs and services are provided for the betterment of the Penticton Indian Band and its community members through the development of safe, healthy homes and the value of home ownership. The Housing Department runs these programs in conjunction with many outside agencies such as INAC, CMHC, and Health Canada to ensure that the community’s housing needs are being met according to the PIB Community Comprehensive Plan.
